Pupils are accessing work experience and learning valuable work-related skills to support their transition to adulthood.
TriConnex are fundraising for iPads and Proloquo2go software to support our pupils to communicate.
Pupils enjoyed an adventure holiday at Danbury Essex Outdoors where they engaged in a range of activities, including climbing, canoeing and archery and worked on their independent and communication skills.
Pupils enjoy 'Chattenbury' music festival, our annual summer music festival where pupils learn skills to support them to access similar events in the local community.
Celebrating Progress: Pupils Transition to Less Intensive Provision
Chatten Free School is in the local paper celebrating our first cohort of sixth form leavers.
Our last Ofsted was on the 26th March 2024. At that inspection, we received an overall grade of outstanding.


In Feb of this year we had a number of trainee teachers from Mid-Essex ITT training school in. We loved the opportunity to let teachers just starting their careers see what we do and meet our amazing pupils.
Always so proud of what we do at Chatten Free School but sometimes something happens that makes us feel extra proud of our unique provision. We loved working with Fyfe to find ways to maximize the impact of Chatten Free school in helping our incredible young people be happy, independent, respected and access the world in a meaningful way.
