Religious Education
Religious Education at Chatten Free School is integrated across the curriculum in ways that are functional and practical for our pupils. We have a strong focus on our school values of Happiness, Independence, and Respect for everyone which form the foundation of our curriculum. Examples of ways that Religious Education is implemented across the curriculum include:
- Teaching functional communication and choice-making so that pupils can communicate their needs, wants, and ideas with others
- Accessing the community to give pupils different experiences and meet a wide variety of people with different ideas and beliefs
- Broadening horizons of pupils through opportunities to access a variety of different activities and experiences from an array of cultures, including dance, music, and yoga
- Celebration and community events, such as our summer picnic, themed fundraising events, and Santa's grotto, where pupils can experience being part of a collective community event
Please note that parents have the right to withdraw their child from part of or all of Religious Education. Please contact a member of the Senior Leadership Team if you have any concerns or would like to discuss this further.
More information on how we support the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of our pupils can be found in our policy:
